Join Temple Israel for Bedikat HaMayim™ at Memorial Park Beach!

Bedikat Chametz is the tradition of searching for and removing any remaining chametz (leavened products such as bread) from our homes on the night before Passover. Bedikat HaMayim™, or “searching the waters,” builds on this tradition by removing “shmutz” (trash and debris) from our waterways in preparation for the holiday.

Inspired by the success of Reverse Tashlich®, which began in 2016 at Eckerd College Hillel’s Scubi Jew®, this meaningful initiative recognizes the harm caused by human pollution and seeks to repair our environment rather than add to it.
